I would be lying if I were to say that, it was the scariest movie of all time. The fact of the matter is, it isn't.
Forget about the reviews that you read online. These reviews didn't give the flim justice. It gave the flim too much justice.
The story line was very much repetitious -- It's very much like you showing your daily activity from the day you wake up, the time you sleep, till the time you wake up again. - In the movie, The Camera runs for 24/7 and it follows the couple around anywhere they go, to take any slightest chance of any paranormal activity that 's happening to Katie, the protagonist, who has strange happenings that are happening to her.
And you guess it.. since it's stated as a 'horror' flim. The intensity of the spookings increase over time, till a point it wakes the couple up at night.
Judging from what i have said, one might wonder; Why isn't it scary?
It isn't. Well, as I have said earlier, it's repetitious. Horror flims are supposed to scare the wits out of someone when they least expected it. They are supposed to lure the viewer into a false sense of comfort, then BAM! - the scare.
However, what's happening here is a predictable lot of "spooky" scenes that only happens at night (with the exception of 1 in the day). One can easily predict when these scenes will happen and brace themselves after the first few scenes of days and nights, as it's always following the same format :
Day to night (fast foward of the timer on the vid cam) to night (the timer on the vid cam, slows down to normal clock mode..) and at this point, something happens, then back to day again where they would Gasp from the recordings of the vid cam and back to the night again.
It's very much like in programming, an infinite loop. or to the non-programmer, a story line like this
"there was a boy he was reading a story book and the story went like this: there was a boy he was reading a story book and the story went like this: there was a boy he was reading a story book and the story went like this.: "
After sometime, you will get so used to it that when i ask what's the boy doing, you would imediately respond that he's reading a story book.
It didn't help with grainy camera quality, and shaky hands from micah, the other protagonist of the movie.
However, with a tiny budget of measly USD 11k, one can't complain.
For those who would still wish to watch; just watch the last 5 minutes of the movie.
Will I watch that? No.
